A Susquehanna County man is facing charges following a three-vehicle crash back in September that killed a young girl. On September 2nd, 21-year-old Zachary Larue was traveling along Route 92 in Lenox Township when he began rounding a left curve in the road. He was traveling at a high rate of speed, causing his pickup truck to spin counter-clockwise and strike two other vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. The first vehicle struck contained the young girl, who passed away from head injuries three days later. Larue himself, his passenger, and the driver of the two other vehicles were also injured. Alcohol was not a factor. Larue was determined to be traveling between 71 and 73 miles per hour in the 55 mile per hour zone, and the curve had a suggested speed of 45 miles per hour. Following a lengthy investigation by the Susquehanna County District Attorney’s Office, Larue is now being charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, and recklessly endangering another person, among other charges. He surrendered to police and was arraigned in Montrose District Court.
