The Canton Fire Department recently received a large grant to help buy equipment.
According to State Rep. Clint Owlett, the department received just over $25,000 to purchase two new gear washers, which helps ensure firefighters’ equipment is cleaned properly.
The grant is from Energy Transfer through their First Responders Fund.
“Grants like this strengthen our fire departments, improve emergency response, and enhance public safety for all who live, work, and travel in our community,” Owlett said.
