The Bradford County Commissioners unanimously approved the 2026 budget with a 15 percent tax increase last week.
The commissioners voted for the $77 million dollar spending plan, which will set the county real estate millage rate at 12.055.
The budget also includes a 2.5 percent pay increase for all county employees not covered under a union contract.
This is the first county budget to include a tax increase since it was set at 10.43 mills in 2009.
The commissioners previously stated that increase in expenses, inflation and both the state and federal budget delays contributed to the need for a tax increase.
