Valley native and Pennsylvania State Treasurer Stacy Garrity has announced she is backing a Pittsburgh attorney in the Republican primary for Lieutenant Governor.

Garrity said she’s supporting Jason Richey, who she called a committed civic leader in the greater Pittsburgh region.

The Republican Candidate for Governor said she looks forward to working with Richey to build a unified, winning Republican ticket and take back the Governor’s Office in November.

Here is Garrity’s complete statement on supporting Richey:

Over the past several months, I’ve spoken with political, civic, and business leaders from every corner of the Commonwealth about the future of Pennsylvania and what it will take to defeat Josh Shapiro and turn our Commonwealth around.
These conversations have been incredibly encouraging – not just because of the breadth of support across our party, but because there is a clear and shared belief that Pennsylvania must do better.
As a result of that process, I am proud to announce that I am backing Jason Richey in the Republican Primary for Lieutenant Governor.
Jason is an accomplished attorney and a committed civic leader in the greater Pittsburgh region. He understands the enormous potential that Pennsylvania has – and the leadership failure that has left our Commonwealth ranked 41st in the nation.
I look forward to working together to build a unified, winning Republican ticket and to take back the Governor’s Office in November.
