Mather Memorial Library mourning loss of librarian, sets temporary hours

The Mather Memorial Library in Ulster is mourning the loss of their longtime librarian Deneen Roach.

The board of trustees said they were shocked and heartbroken to have lost such an amazing individual so soon.

Roach dedicated 14 years to the Mather Memorial Library.

A special board meeting was held to pass an emergency operations resolution to ensure the continued operations of the library.

The library will reopen on Thursday from 4:30 to 7 pm. The library will then operate on these temporary reduced hours. Wednesday to Friday from 4:30 to 7 and Saturday from 9-3.

On Monday, December 1st, the Mather Memorial Library Board of Trustees was informed of the unexpected passing of our wonderful librarian, Deneen Roach. We are shocked and heartbroken to have lost such an amazing individual so soon. Our hearts go out to Deneen’s family and we ask the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.

That Wednesday, we held a special board meeting and formally passed an emergency operations resolution to ensure the continued operations of the library. Mather Memorial Library was a major part of Deneen’s life and we are committed to making sure her 14 years of tireless dedication becomes a part of her legacy that her family and community can be proud of.
Mather Memorial Library will reopen on Thursday, December 11th from 4:30 to 7pm.
After the 11th, the library will be operating on the following temporary reduced hours.
Sunday-Tuesday – Closed
Wednesday-Friday – 4:30-7
Saturday – 9-3
We will be closed on December 24th, 25th, 26th, and 31st.
