Pennsylvania’s Attorney General will resign Wednesday after being convicted on nine counts of perjury and obstruction. Kathleen Kane made the announcement Tuesday, after her resignation was again requested by Governor Tom Wolf. Kane was convicted yesterday of intentionally leaking information about a 2009 grand jury probe to try and discredit her predecessor and then lying about her actions to a grand jury. Two former aides testified that Kane asked them to deliver the sealed grand jury documents to a reporter. The Democrat has been in office since 2012. Her last day will be tomorrow. Kane’s lawyers say she is a victim of political retribution and did not receive a fair trial. She could face jail time, but that will be decided later at a sentencing hearing.
