Former Bradford County District Attorney Chad Salsman is heading back to state prison.
Salsman was sentenced to two months to five years on the charge of person not to possess a firearm.
He was charged with the crime while on parole for his previous conviction for promoting prostitution, obstruction of justice and witness intimidation.
Salsman served out the remainder of his 1 1/2 to 5 year prison sentence following the parole violation.
He was arrested by the state police following events where Salsman used a 22-caliber rifle to kill a pigeon in Wilmot Township.
“It is doubtful that Salsman will be released in the immediate future, given this new offense and that parole hit,” said Wilson.
Salsman was also convicted of the Unauthorized Practice of Law because he was trying to act as a lawyer by giving legal advice to inmates while housed at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, awaiting trial.
“The conviction for the Unauthorized Practice of Law was especially important, I believe, because it should make it impossible for Salsman to ever get his law license back,” said Wilson.
