Chemung County will maintain ownership of the county’s nursing facility. Chemung County legislature voted on a plan Tuesday night to keep the facility in the county’s hands. There was concern that financial challenges would lead to the nursing home being sold to a private owner. County leaders say they will continue to look for opportunities, including partnerships with outside companies, to help save money and keep the facility public.
