An officer in Horseheads interrupted a burglary in progress. Police say the officer was on his routine patrol with his K-9 partner Thursday morning when he noticed suspicious activity at Scott’s Guns and Accessories on Watkins Road. He spotted 22-year-old Stephen Savage near the store and noticed damage to the building. Police say Savage surrendered quickly when the officer warned he would release the dog. Savage was arraigned and sent to the Chemung County Jail on $10,000 bail.
