The man who admitted to shooting and killing another man in Elmira last summer has been sentenced to ten years in Chemung County Jail. Jerell Rollins appeared in county court Monday morning. Rollins was sentenced to ten years in prison with five years of post release supervision.
On July 5th last year, police say Rollins shot and killed 20-year-old Randy Brooks, near the East Gate Apartment Complex. Rollins was originally charged with second degree murder, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of first degree manslaughter.
