Margeson beats Moss in Republican primary for Chemung County Executive

Voters went to the polls for the New York State primary on Tuesday.

Mark Margeson picked up the win in the race for Chemung County Executive. He finished with over 55 percent of the vote to beat incumbent Chris Moss, who finished with 44 percent.

Peter Oberacker won the Republican primary for US House District 19. He finished with 77.6 percent of the vote and will now face incumbent Democratic Congressman Josh Riley in the general election.

In US House District 23, Aaron Gies cruised to the win over Kevin Stocker. He finished with over 71 percent of the vote and will now face incumbent Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy in November.

Dan Norton won the Democratic primary for the State Assmebly’s 123rd district with nearly 60 percent of the vote. He beat out Dan Livingston, who finished with 40 percent of the vote.

In Republican primary for State Senate District 51, Christopher Tague beat Terry Bernardo by a 54 to 46 margin to earn a spot on the November ballot.

Incumbent New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli easily won the Democratic primary with 65 percent of the vote on Tuesday.
