New York State’s annual spring burn ban went into effect on Monday. The burn ban will run from March 16 through May 14. During that time, it is illegal to burn brush due to an increased risk of wildfires. Small backyard fires, cooking fires and camping fires are still allowed while the New York State burn ban is in place. For more information, visit dec.ny.gov.
