Ithaca Police say a man murdered a woman inside an apartment yesterday morning and then set a fire to cover up the crime. 45-year-old Michael Davis was taken into custody yesterday after a day-long investigation into the death of Josie Berrios inside an apartment in the 200 block of Dryden Road. Police say the two had a personal relationship. Berrios was found deceased at 7am after authorities were called to the apartment for reports of a fire. Davis is now charged with murder in the second degree and arson. He was sent to the Tompkins County Jail without bail and will be back in court Monday.
