A Tompkins County man has been sentenced to a lengthy stay in state prison following last year’s shooting in Newfield. On Wednesday, 36-year-old Donnell Harrison was sentenced in Tompkins County Court to 16 years in state prison with five years of post-release supervision. Harrison was convicted in June on charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Back in April of 2013 Harrison was involved in a confrontation in which he shot one man in the leg and another in the face. He then fled to New York City before he was caught by U.S. Marshals.
