According to the first official poll of the season, Fred Akshar is leading the political race for the vacant state senate seat. The poll by Siena College and Time Warner Cable News surveyed 535 potential voters in the 52nd district. According to the poll, Akshar leads over Fiala by 28%. The poll also found that, of those surveyed, about 9% are still undecided. The poll is said to have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 points.
