A total of 16 regional American Red Cross volunteers have been sent down to South Carolina to aid in relief efforts following devastating flooding in that area. These 16 area volunteers will join trained American Red Cross personnel from all over the East Coast who are being deployed to the Carolinas as well. Last night alone, the American Red Cross opened 30 shelters across South Carolina. Supplies and equipment are also being sent that way for current and future needs.
