The Broome County Legislature will move ahead with changes to the proposed 2017 Broome County Budget despite vetoes from Executive Debbie Preston. The legislature has voted to decrease its general fund for next year by approximately $1.4 million, and lower the property tax levy. In addition, legislators voted to reallocate funds from Willow Point Nursing Home to hire a legislative assistant. The legislature now has until Sunday to adopt the recently amended budget.
