Bradford County has been awarded over $9,000 by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency to conduct a study to help the county prepare for spills of hazardous materials and other emergencies. The study will look at the transport of drilling rigs, hydraulic fracturing fluid, and other hazardous materials that are moved through the county. This is the first study of its kind since the natural gas industry came to Bradford County. The funding comes in the form of a grant, and the county is supplementing the grant with over $2,200 of its own funds.
