Binghamton University is back in session today as the school begins the Spring 2017 semester. More than 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students will take classes on the Vestal campus this semester. Many of them were in the area yesterday to participate in service projects in honor of Martin Luther King Day at local non-profit and community organizations. SUNY Cortland, Ithaca College, and Cornell University will all start their spring semesters next week while Elmira College began classes last week. SUNY Broome begins the spring semester on Jan. 30.
