Two Canton women are being charged with endangering the welfare of a child after it was reported that they left a 5-year-old child alone in a room for three days. 23-year-old Ashley Wicker and 23-year-old Jessica Lewis, both of Canton, are facing the charges. Canton Police had received a report of a possible neglect case, and officers had been told by different sources that a child had been locked in an empty bedroom. Wicker and Lewis reportedly told police that the child was in the room because the child has violent outbursts and was left in the room to calm down. Police and Bradford County Child and Youth Services officers took the child to Memorial Hospital in Towanda for a physical. Wicker and Lewis are facing a hearing on May 28th.
