The Chenango Valley School District held a budget meeting on Monday as the district looks to branch a $221,000 gap between its current budget and its target. Monday’s meeting was the second of three planned meetings. District officials are working on a plan to produce a tax levy decrease of .44 percent in the current $34 million spending plan. The latest budget presented on Monday included a .75 percent tax levy increase, leaving the district with the $221,000 to cut from the budget. Districts across the state are still waiting for the final numbers for state aid. A final draft will be presented on April 7th.
