United States Representative Tom Reed has announced he will be running for re-election, kicking off his campaign Tuesday in Elmira. Reed, who currently represents the 23rd Congressional District, spoke about his priorities Tuesday, which include a fair tax code, adequate energy resources, and getting the national debt under control. Reed is being challenged for the position by Democrat Martha Robertson of Dryden, who currently serves as the chairwoman of the Tompkins County Legislature.
