The Tioga County Democratic Committee has announced its candidate for legislator in Tioga County’s fifth legislative district, Waverly Deputy Mayor Pat Ayers. He will run for the county seat that was once held by Ray Case, who passed away in December. The district includes Waverly and the Town of Barton. Legislators appointed Dennis Mullen to fill the seat, but the state ruled that it must go to a vote. Election Day is Nov. 8. The Tioga County Republican Committee has not yet announced a candidate.
