Fire officials have confirmed that two children were seriously injured in an early morning fire at a home on Route 11 in Whitney Point this morning. An infant and 10-year-old are said to have suffered severe injuries, including burns and smoke inhalation. There were a total of nine people in the home when it went up in flames. All nine people did manage to escape. Six fire departments responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
