Ithaca Police say an elderly woman suffered minor injuries when she was robbed while walking home from church yesterday. Police say the 88-year-old woman was walking in the 200 block of East Geneva Street just after 12pm when an attacker came up from behind, grabbed her purse, and shoved the woman to the ground. The attacker, described as a heavyset black female in her 30s, then jumped into a gray or white SUV and fled the area. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the IPD Crime Stopper Tipline at 607-697-0333. The robbery victim was treated at the scene.
