An Elmira man is facing charges of aggravated assault in Bradford County. 45-year-old Leonard Storms allegedly punched a man and threw his motorcycle during an altercation back on July 5th. Storms is also accused of using his truck to strike the victim in the case, and police say that during the assault the victim suffered a ruptured left eye, which will likely result in permanent loss of vision. Now Storms is being charged with one felony count of first degree aggravated assault and one felony count of second degree aggravated assault, along with charges of simple assault, criminal trespass, and others. According to police reports, the victim is Storms’ ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend. Storms allegedly forced his way into the ex-girlfriend’s home and attacked the victim before coming back outside and throwing the victim’s Harley Davidson motorcycle to the ground, damaging it. Following the attack, the victim had to be taken by helicopter from Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for more advanced treatment. Storms was remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $80,000 bail.
