The owner of Tioga Downs and his wife have donated another large amount of money to the Tioga Central School District. Jeff Gural and his wife, Paula, gave a check worth $294,479 to the school board last night, to help the district keep and expand extracurricular programs for students. This is the third donation in as many years made by the Gural family to the school district. In 2015, they donated funds that helped Tioga Central avoid cutting sports and other extracurriculars when the district was facing a budget crisis. They did it again last year. Superintendent Scot Taylor says the funding is not only a gift, but helps them as they continue to deal with a lack of state aid. Tioga Central is in the midst of creating their budget for next school year. A public hearing is scheduled for next week at the high school.
