An Ithaca man succumbed to his wounds in a regional burn unit after a fire critically injured him Wednesday afternoon. 53-year-old Richard Sherman was injured in a fire that occurred in an area known to locals as “The Jungle’, a homeless encampment area near a downtown ravine. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
