Johnson City Police have added charges against a village man after their investigation of a stabbing on Monday. Initially, they thought 47-year-old Samuel Lambert stabbed a dog in self-defense after being bitten, but their investigation revealed that Lambert assaulted the dog and then attempted to assault the dog’s owner with a knife. He is now charged with injuring an animal as well as additional counts of attempted assault and menacing. The dog, a pitbull named Geneva, suffered a stab wound but is expected to make a full recovery. Her owner was left with a minor laceration to his head and was treated at the scene after the incident on Grand Avenue Monday.
