The overnight snow and continued lake effect snow warning and wind advisory forced almost all of the local school districts to close today, including Owego-Apalachin, Tioga Central, and all of the schools in the Triple Cities. Some area colleges also closed today, including SUNY Broome, SUNY Cortland, and TC3. In addition, meals will not be delivered to homes by Tioga Opportunities. Many community events and meetings have been changed due to the snow. That includes the Owego Free Academy and Owego-Apalachin Middle School fall band concert, which was originally scheduled for tonight. It will now be held tomorrow night. The Ernie Davis Senior All-Star Football game has been postponed from its usual spot on Wednesday to Monday, a week from today, at 6pm in Johnson City. If you had an event scheduled for tonight, our best advice is to call ahead before heading out. Drivers are urged to use caution, especially with the possibility of blowing snow with wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour today.
