Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton has unveiled new technology which they say will offer more effective and quicker treatments for cancer patients. The hospital’s new TrueBeam linear accelerator allows physicians to tailor treatments to specific areas of the body, and is much more effective than previous radiation treatments. Instead of it taking 15 minutes or more, a patient can now receive a treatment in around 2 minutes. Lourdes is the first hospital in the area to offer this technology.
