A local school district celebrated Flag Day with a visit from a Marine. Maine Memorial Elementary School held an early Flag Day celebration this morning. Lance Corporal Bryan Lang presented a flag that was flown on an F-18 Hornet mission in Afghanistan. Bryan graduated from Maine-Endwell High School in 2006. Students and teachers honored the service of many with a flag raising ceremony followed by music and poetry. The school continued the party throughout the day with a picnic at the Town of Maine Park along with a visit from the circus. Flag Day is observed nationwide on June 14.
