An investigation into the vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Route 17 in Owego on Friday is continuing. Authorities say that they had received multiple complaints about a man attempting to jump into traffic on Route 17. Deputies were in the process of responding when they received a final call that he had been hit. It was unclear if the man was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the incident took place. After being struck by the car, the man was taken to Robert Packer Hospital for the treatment of his injuries.
