ME wins Little League World Championship

The Maine-Endwell Little League team are World Champions! M-E defeated the team from South Korea 2-1 yesterday to win the Little League World Series in Williamsport. They are the first US team to win the World Series since 2011 and the first from NY to win since 1964.

The Town of Union is holding a parade for the team as they return home today. The parade is scheduled to start at 11:15am, and will follow Hooper Road, to Farm to Market Road, and end at Struble Baseball Field on Struble Road. The parade will include fire trucks, ambulances, the player’s parents, and then finally, the players on their bus.

Fans are asked to line the streets to welcome their local world champions home. M-E defeated Goodlettsville, Tennessee to become the United States champions on Saturday. Afterwards, they received a special call from President Obama.
