Neighboring towns are coming together to help Lindley. A Saturday night fire destroyed the town’s garage and along with it, more than $1 million worth of highway equipment. That means the town won’t be able to maintain the 72 miles of roads within its boundaries. Lindley Town Supervisor Gerald Simcoe says they’ve been able to make arrangements with neighboring municipalities to get coverage into their town, and also to borrow some equipment. He says it will take a while to handle the loss with the insurance company. Leaders are not sure when they can buy replacement trucks.
