Owego-Apalachin School District Superintendent Corey Green joined the WEBO Morning Show today to discuss the district’s proposed budget. The current proposal calls for a $45.8 million budget for next school year, which includes a 1.05 percent increase to the property tax levy. Green says the budget process is a balancing act. The district’s board of education will adopt a final proposal April 13 and it will be voted on May 16. Besides the budget, the district continues to work towards a project that will replace the track, playing field, and bleachers of Christy J. Valvo Stadium. They are waiting for FEMA approval of their plans, and then state approval before work begins. The full interview from today is available below.
