President Barack Obama will be making his much-anticipated visit to Cooperstown today. According to town officials, today’s visit by the President will make it the first visit to Cooperstown by a sitting president since Martin Van Buren in 1839. Obama’s visit to Cooperstown will include a stop to the National Baseball Hall of Fame to promote tourism in the U.S. At this time, it’s not been made clear whether the president will be visiting stops other than the Hall of Fame. He is expected to be arrive sometime this afternoon.
