Voters in the Owego-Apalachin District will be asked to consider a proposed spending plan of $45.9 million for the 2017-2018 school year. The budget contains a property tax increase of 1.05 percent, which is below the district’s nine-year average of 1.23 percent – the lowest average increase in the region. Residents will be asked if they would like to increase taxpayer funding of the Coburn Free Library by $35,000. Voting will be held from noon to 8pm at both the Apalachin Elementary School and Owego Free Academy. Budget information is available online at www.oacsd.org.
