An agency in Northern Pennsylvania that provides much needed services to 1,600 senior citizens is currently having to turn individuals away, after the Pennsylvania State Budget stalemate continues. The Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Tioga County’s Area Agency on Aging, provides services to seniors such as, in-home care, delivered meals, grocery shopping services, housekeeping, and check-ins. The organization operates on a $7.3 Million budget, but has had to defer payments on $410,000 to service providers, after state funding has halted. The Pennsylvania State government has been at an impasse on their annual budget, after Governor Tom Wolf vetoed the proposed budget passed by both the state house and senate on June 30th.
