The disagreement on teacher contracts continues in Sayre. The Sayre Area Education Association has announced that another teacher strike will be held on April 12th if an agreement is not made with the school board before then. The education association has another meeting with the school board on April 7th, where they hope a resolution can be made to prevent the strike. The education association also says that they will meet with the school board any other time prior to April 12th as well.
Pennsylvania’s weeklong state assessment testing of students in 3rd through 8th grade is scheduled to start on April 11th, meaning that if a resolution is not met to avoid the strike, students scheduled to take tests on the 12th will miss their assessment. Both the school board and education association wish to avoid the strike.
