Phase one in building a new municipal parking garage is expected to begin this week in Towanda. The first phase of the project is to relocate the Flying Cow Bakery and Café closer to the Merrill Parkway. This will allow for the room needed to construct the new parking garage. The new garage is expected to bring about 230 new parking spaces to the Downtown Towanda area, and is being funded by a $5 million state grant. The garage must be completed by December 31st, 2017 as a requirement of the grant.
