Approximately 32,000 Village of Endicott residents are under a boil water advisory, and both the Union-Endicott and Maine-Endwell School Districts are closed today. This comes following a water main break at about 8pm last night in the area of Harrison Avenue and Park Street in Endicott. Residents in portions of West Corners and Endwell should boil their water as well. Crews were working overnight to fix the water main, and have made progress, however, a drop in water pressure could have allowed for harmful bacteria to enter the lines. Residents will be asked to continue boiling all water used for drinking, cooking, and brushing their teeth until a water purity test can be conducted.
