Binghamton City Mayor Rich David has released dash camera footage of the 10 car traffic accident which occurred on Route 17 eastbound in Binghamton last week. The video depicts the moment a tractor trailer strikes several cars, one of which is seen catching on fire. Later in the video, good Samaritans can be seen rescuing an individual from one of the vehicles. The video can be seen on the WEBO facebook page.
While the official cause of the crash is still under investigation, authorities have said that the tractor trailer carrying stone had inadequate brakes, which added to the severity of the situation.
