OES Ribbon Cutting

The Owego-Apalachin Central School District held a special dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Owego Elementary School today. The event was hosted by Superintendent Dr. Bill Russell and the district’s Board of Education. Many national, state, regional, and local representatives were on hand, including Senator Charles Schumer, Congressman Tom Reed, State Senator Fred Akshar, Assemblyman Christopher Friend, Tioga County Legislative Chairperson Marte Sauerbrey, and Owego Mayor Steve May.

OES students Hailee Shrauger and Sam Cunningham helped cut the ribbon (video is available on the WEBO Facebook page). Students and teachers moved into the school on Jan. 6. A special community Open House will be held this Saturday from 10am-12pm at the school.
