Binghamton University researchers will lead a five-year, $3.3 million National Institutes of Health study on opioid-use-disorder treatment during breastfeeding. The team will examine how medicines including buprenorphine, methadone and naltrexone move into breast milk and what exposure may mean for infants. Researchers from Binghamton’s School of Pharmacy will work with Upstate Medical University and Old Dominion University to develop better evidence for safer, more personalized treatment decisions.
