The Broome County Republican Committee announced that Benji Federman stepped aside as its Chairman on Monday.

Federman is expecting his first child with his wife this summer and plans to focus on family in the coming months while remaining in the area and staying active in state and local politics.

Federman says it’s been a privilege to represent Broome County at the highest levels of our democratic process and to have helped elect a new generation of local Republicans.

“I’m so excited to be a new Dad and I’m ready to take a small step back from politics to focus on family,” said Federman. “I’m immensely proud of what our Republican team has been able to accomplish the past three and a half years – raising record funds, generating such strong enthusiasm for local politics and winning tough elections. We have a tremendous slate of candidates this year and the Broome Republicans are in great shape to continue the fight for a better future.”
