The City of Binghamton will be shutting down a local nightclub after repeated reports of gambling, drug activity, and violent crime on the premises. A lockdown order was approved for the club 17 East on Clinton Street by a city judge. The business is set to be shut down immediately, and at this time it’s not known for how long the club will remain closed, but the court can rule to keep a business closed for up to a year. The nightclub was one of the locations involved in the investigation that resulted in 14 alleged gang members being arrested in recent weeks.
