Binghamton mayor Rich David has announced a $3 million project that will help keep large trucks from getting stuck at the intersection of Front and Clinton streets. Work will be taking place to lower the roads that run under the Norfolk Southern railroad overpass. City officials say that not only will the project fix infrastructure problems, but it will allow for critical access for tractor-trailers without getting wedged under the overpass, resulting in Binghamton businesses receiving quicker deliveries. The project will also include new traffic patterns along with changes to utility and sewer lines. The project is completely funded by state and local grants and the work is expected to be complete by November.
