Over 5,000 people were drawn to Binghamton on Sunday for Broome County’s first Color Run. The Color Run is a for-profit agency which held events in 50 cities across the country last year, drawing close to 600,000 participants in all. Participants are asked to wear white colors at the starting line, and throughout the run there are four color stations where the runners can get sprayed down with colored corn starch, and by the finish of the untimed race, the participants’ outfits are sporting an array of different colors. Representatives from the Color Run worked with the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier to put on the event.
