Glass artisan Milon Townsend will be in Binghamton today to perform a scheduled inspection of the bird figurines of the ACA Memorial Park on Front Street. This inspection will involve the removal of all 13 figurines from their mounts so they can be taken to his studio near Rochester. The inspection is intended to check to see how the figurines weathered their first winter. The park is still under construction, benches and paving stones will be installed in March and the park is expected to be completed before the fourth anniversary of the tragic shootings in Binghamton on April 3, 2009. The birds will be remounted at the park in a few weeks prior to the park dedication in the Spring.
